About PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments at Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre are among the most potent available in the Vancouver region. Only pure and highly concentrated PRP can release the quantity of growth factors required to stimulate cellular regeneration.

This treatment is well tolerated by most individuals, and since the platelets are from your own blood there is no possibility of allergic reactions or side effects.

  • No risk of immune response or disease transmission
  • Very safe for all skin types with minimal downtime
  • Increases collagen production
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines
  • Naturally induced rejuvenation
  • 98% “Worth It” rating on Realself

How It Works

PRP stimulates a controlled inflammatory response to produce new collagen and tighten the skin. Platelets release small molecules that act as messengers to regulate tissue healing. This unique blend of wound healing and growth factor platelets can rejuvenate your skin by minimizing fine lines and aid in improving your collagen quality and levels.

Sometimes PRP is added to dermal fillers (JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, BELOTERO BALANCE®, TEOSYAL®, Revanesse®, STYLAGE®) in treatments such as Introfill and V2 Beautification to fill, brighten and rejuvenate the face.

How can PRP improve my skin?

The growth factors that are contained in the PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) can help improve the look of wrinkles, fine lines while promoting the production of your own collagen to aid in volume enhancement.

Is is painful and how long does it take?

We use topical numbing cream prior to the treatment to ensure the experience is as comfortable as possible. The whole treatment takes about 1 hour however the application of the PRP is only about 30 minutes

How long does it take to see results?

Most clients report an improvement in the treatment area a few weeks after the treatment however the production of collagen and improvement in elastin can take up to 6 months. Sometimes good things take time!

What kind of downtime can I expect?

As the PRP is introduced into the dermis by injection, there is always a possibility of bruising. Avoiding alcohol, aspirin and ginkgo biloba one week prior to treatment can sometimes reduce the chance of a bruise.
