How Many Treatments Will I Need?
We are asked this question every day. As most hair grows on a 3-month cycle, new hair is continually popping up. We recommend treating with multiple sessions spaced about 8 weeks apart to ensure that we are not wasting your time or your money treating hair that has already been treated.
Can Any Hair be Treated?
For a hair to be successfully removed it must still have pigmentation as this is how the laser energy passes down the shaft to destroy the follicle. The best reduction results come from hair that is dark or black. Once the hair has turned grey, red or blonde the likelihood of reduction is very slim as there is less pigmentation in the strand.
What do I Need to do to Prepare for my Laser Hair Removal Session?
Shave. Yes, I know it seems strange, but we require that all our laser hair removal clients arrive freshly shaven.
As the laser energy targets the pigmented hair, any hair above the skin’s surface will also be targeted. This increases the possibility of complications and can result in pigmentation and scarring. The goal is to destroy the hair below the skins surface to ensure maximum results with minimal downtime.
Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
Absolutely, as long as you visit a reputable clinic. Laser hair removal machines are very powerful and require regular maintenance and also highly trained technicians to operate them.
