Lip Injections Options
Lip enhancement procedures are done via
injections which plump up the lip area and typically
last from approximately three months to up to a year.
These are temporary because, depending on the method
used, the body (safely!) absorbs the product over
time, or the filler breaks down, and your lips go
back to how they were originally.
Wrinkle Injections
Wrinkle injections help to temporarily relax
certain muscles under the skin by blocking the nerve
impulses. These muscle relaxations can prevent, or
severely help any lines forming on the surface,
making the skin appear smoother and sometimes even
slimmer! You have all heard (and maybe received)
wrinkle injections to help with those pesky fine
lines on your forehead, but wrinkle injections can
also be used to enhance lips and reduce a “gummy
smile” look. Going back to its roots of erasing fine
lines, it is also used to reduce the lines around the
mouth – therefore making the lips appear fuller and
stand out more.

Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are typically the most commonly
chosen lip enhancement option as they will increase
volume wherever they are injected. Hyaluronic acid is
used in most of these dermal fillers and since it is
a gel already found in our skin, the body can safely
absorb it. Common names you may have heard for
hyaluronic acid fillers include Juvederm and
Restylane, but there are many others.

Side Effects
Most of these injectables come with little to no
side effects! Occasionally people will experience
minimal bruising and redness, and feel a little
discomfort – but these are only temporary.
